Online Lecture Series from Istanbul Gelisim University and Kutaisi University


A week-long online lecture series that was dedicated to the medical students was done with the collaboration of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) and Kutaisi University between the dates of 10th and 14th June in which approximately 80 students and 10 lecturers participated.


A week long online lecture series that was dedicated for the medical students were done with the collaboration of IGU and Kutaisi University between the dates of 10th and 14th June in which approximately 80 students and 10 lecturers participated.

Meetings about the said program had been going on for a while to discuss the conditions and the scope of the program. Finally, the dates of 10th and 14th June were agreed upon. After agreeing on the date, announcements were made by both of the universities to the students. Many students from both of the universities showed interest in the program. The program included lectures that were focused on topics such as clinics, laboratory, common health issues, stress, PTSD and many more. Lectures were given by Professors from both sides. While from IGU Prof. William Mosier, Dr. Hina Zahoor, Dr. Nasir Mustafa, Asst. Prof. Fatma Sıla Ayan and Lecturer Berk Efe Altınal participated; Lecturer Lali Chkhikvadze, Dr. Melania Godoladze, Asst. Prof. Iago Tsertsvadze, Dr. Marine Davituliani, Asst. Prof. Khatuna Chakvetadze participated from Kutaisi University. The program was successfully completed with a total of 10 lectures in which students listened to the hour long lectures and had to opportunity to ask questions, have discussions with the professors. Nevertheless, students and Professors whom participated in the program were given a certificate of attendance.

The program, not only strengthened the ties between the universities but also provided educational opportunities to the students that participated. As International Exchange and Cooperation Office, each day we work to increase our international partners and establish such collaborations to provide our university benefits.
