IGU and Urgench Branch of Tashkent University of Information Technologies (UBTUIT) held an online meeting on 26th of August to discuss establishing new student and staff exchanges programs’ possibilities.

With its over 70 years of experience, UBTUIT is one of the most well-established universities in Uzbekistan, specialized in information technologies and telecommunication. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) had been signed with the university on 04/07/2024 during their visit to IGU with a memorandum of understanding ceremony and this meeting was a follow up to the discussion that were held during the ceremony. The meeting started with the parties introducing themselves and continued with parties talking about the common departments that could be collaborated on. After finding several common departments that could be used in the exchange programs both sides went on to start discussing about both universities’ facilities for the students. These talks about university facilities were followed up by further explanations about the KA171 program, which was the main planned type of program to be collaborated on in addition to some other project types. Finally, after finding the common points and the type of project that could be collaborated on the parties concluded the next steps and ended the meeting with good wishes to the future collaborations between the universities.

This meeting with our partner university UBTUIT is of great importance as it significantly marks down IGU’s active efforts to both enlarge its academic connections and internationalization efforts which are the key steps in becoming a World university.
