The meeting, which will open the door to productive cooperation with the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), one of the largest educational institutions in the South Caucasus, was hosted by the Istanbul Gelisim University Erasmus+ Office on October 28.

The meeting, where the details of the cooperation were discussed, was an important step for the cooperation agreement to be signed soon.
In the meeting held for the establishment of cooperation in all fields with UNEC, where our partnership has been continuing diligently since 2020, within the scope of the International Credit Mobility (KA-171) Projects, all issues were agreed upon. The text of the agreement is planned to be signed by two parties in the upcoming days.

In addition, the Dual Degree program, which UNEC has effectively implemented with many leading universities in Türkiye, was discussed together with the methods and details of establishing cooperation which will be a first for Istanbul Gelişim University.
UNEC, founded in 1930 and located in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan, was awarded the "quality award at European standards" by the European University Association in 2007. It has 14 faculties and 16.000 active students. It offers master programs in 57 specialties, employing more than 1000 teachers, including 62 professors and 344 lecturers, among whom there are active members of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, New York Academy of Sciences, winners of state awards, honored teachers and scientists. There are 650 bachelor’s and master’s students who are studying at the university from 10 different countries.

It is expected that this visit from Azerbaijan will contribute to both institutions by creating more opportunities in order to improve the existing bilateral relations between institutions and to provide collaboration between universities in more fields.
