New Agreement New Visit: Lithuanian University of Sciences

This month, the International Exchange and Cooperation Office signed a new agreement and hosted its first guest from the newly contracted university.

IECO continues to increase its agreements and host its incoming staff. This month Agne Slapsinskaite-Dackeviciene from the Lithuanian University of Sciences visited our university's Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation department and our office.

The process of signing the new agreement was carried out by two of our research assistants from the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department, Res. Assist. Ayşem Ecem Özdemir, and Res. Assist. Öznur Kaya Sağlam’s contributions. Res. Assist. Ayşem Ecem Özdemir and Res. Assist. Öznur Kaya Sağlam visited the Lithuanian University of Sciences in April as part of the 2020 Project Year Erasmus+ Staff Training Mobility. After this visit, Agne Slapsinskaite-Dackeviciene shared her interest to visit our university within the scope of Teaching Mobility and this intention opened the floodgates for an agreement.

Agne Slapsinskaite-Dackeviciene first visited the International Exchange and Cooperation Office on 23 May 2023 and met with the representatives of the office. In the next step, a presentation covering the structure, achievements, and departments of our university was made by Duygu Can, IECO Assistant Specialist, and IECO Specialist Hazal Emir. After the meeting at the office, Agne Slapsinskaite-Dackeviciene visited the Faculty of Health Sciences and met with Ayşem Ecem Özdemir and Öznur Kaya Sağlam. After this discussion, she attended the Qigong Practice course held in the Occupational Therapy laboratory.

On May 24, Agne Slapsinskaite-Dackeviciene participated in the academic discussion titled "The Effects of Yoga on the Cardiovascular System of Healthy Women" at the Faculty of Health Sciences.
We continue to increase our international recognition with our increasing agreements and incoming staff coming within the scope of Erasmus+ Programme.
