International Office Manager Dr. Danny von Nordheim and Deputy Director Robert Schaef from our esteemed partner University of Applied Sciences Jena in Germany visited Istanbul Gelisim University. This visit gives a new speed to the cooperation between the two institutions.
A meeting was held to discuss possible collaborations and projects between Bangladesh Noakhali Science and Technology University and Istanbul Gelisim University. IGU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Arda Öztürkcan and Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Rıfat Mutuş participated in the meeting coordinated by the International Exchange and Cooperation Coordination Office (IECO).
On February 29, 2024, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding took place at the Rectorate Pink Hall with the participation of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Faisalabad, Zahida Maqbool, the Head of the International Linkages Office, Amna Javed, our university's Rector, Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin, our Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Nuri Kuruoğlu and Prof. Dr. Seyfettin Arda Öztürkcan, and our General Secretary Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serdar Egeli, as well as the participation of IECO.
Istanbul Gelisim University has taken an important step towards international collaborations and academic exchange programs. As part of the collaboration discussions with Memorial University of Newfoundland, one of Canada's leading universities, Dr. April Pike, Associate Professor in the Nursing Department, visited Istanbul Gelisim University on February 29, 2024.
Within the framework of our Erasmus+ Bilateral Agreements, the Orientation Program for students coming from various countries under the framework of Student Mobility was held on February 16, 2024, with great interest from our students and contributions from our buddy students.
Istanbul Gelisim University continues its determination to achieve its goal of becoming a strong university in the international arena. In this context, a memorandum of understanding was signed with Kutaisi University in Georgia on 12 February 2024. Thus, IECO has strengthened its partnerships in Eastern Europe.
International Exchange and Cooperation Office (IECO) continues to strengthen international collaborations under the Erasmus+ agreements. It aims to enhance these agreements through strategic partnerships, particularly with two prestigious state universities in Romania.

A meeting was held with Almaty Technological University, which joined our partner universities in recent months, on January 29, 2024 to discuss potential student and staff mobility opportunities.
After the Erasmus+ teaching and training mobility results announced on 28.12.2023 within the scope of Erasmus+ Consortium Mobility (Small Steps, Big Results, and Smart Consortium) the orientation meeting was held for the 2022 contract period, with the participation of 17 academic and administrative staff who were entitled to participate in the mobility.
On 23 October 2023, a new agreement was signed with Singidunum University in Serbia covering the fields of Computer Technology, Political Science and Public Administration, Psychology, English Translation and Interpreting, Applied English Translation and Interpreting, English Language and Literature, Fine Arts, Economics and Finance.
