Volunteer Buddies are those who help the students who came under the Exchange programs. Our buddy students are expected to do the following tasks voluntarily without any coercion.
With this program, you can improve your language, get to know different cultures, and promote your own culture by communicating with international students. In addition, students who have benefited from foreign exchange programs before can share their experiences, and students who want to benefit from exchange programs in the future can have the chance to gain experience by gaining knowledge about what an international student might need in a different country.
The Basic Tasks of the Volunteer Buddy
1-) To assist the student in getting to know the general culture and lifestyle of the Turkish people to support the process of getting used to Istanbul in the first weeks she/he will spend in the city.
2-) To support the subjects about registering for courses, transportation, getting a sim card, and accommodation.
3-) To assist foreign students in administrative processes such as obtaining a residence permit and tax number
The Qualifications for Being a Volunteer Buddy
* Being a volunteer to guide international students / Erasmus students who are coming to our university in the process of getting used to the University and Istanbul
* Being good at speaking English
Volunteer Buddy Participant Certificate;
A Certificate of Participation will be given by our university to the students who have participated in the buddy student program and received positive feedback from the foreign student he/she mentored.
